Basketball and MUCH more!!!

We are now into Basketball season and the Menwith Hill Mustangs are starting out the season with a BANG or should I say a "POP" or "SEVERAL POPS!" Let me explain.....

We played ACS down in London, 2 games on Friday afternoon and 2 on Saturday.

All was going well, "FISH" #34 was playing well.

Supporting the team when needed whether from the bench or on the court!

Here is #34 "FISH" waiting for "sub rotation" to get in there to do some business!!! He is quick and light on his feet....

A real team player!

Here he is guarding his "man" during the 3 quarter of the 3rd game...

Then all of the sudden as he comes down from stealing a ball he lands wrong on his left ankle and POP - POP - POP!!!!

The next thing we were doing was "icing" - "wrapping" and treating the PAIN until the paramedics arrived .
Jeremey and I rode via ambulance while Ed followed in the car to the nearest hospital in Hillingdon, England....

We arrived at the ER which they call A&E over here.....

Here Jeremey is waiting patiently for the doctor to come and assess him - he was sent down for xrays and asked if he needed anything more for PAIN!!!

The paramedics placed a lovely orange "AIR CAST" on him that also was cold to assist with the swelling... It provided him some comfort and support for the time being...

The xrays came back showing that he had NOT fractured anything - however, it was a bad sprain and he had pulled several ligaments, hence the POPPING noise!

We were sent home with "walking sticks" (their form of crutches) and were told to just elevate it and give him motrin for the swelling and pain..
Oh, and a lovely advice sheet on how to survive a ankle injury!!!
The good news is that it could have been worse - the BAD NEWS is that Jeremey will NOT be able to play basketball for the next 4-6 weeks! Which is basically the remainder of the season!
However, he is still a part of the team and is planning on attending all the practices and games to support the guys!!! With a bit of patience and some MOMMY physio he should be back to playing soon!
We are so proud of you Jeremey! You played a couple of great games!!!!
