Food for Thought...

The chains of habit are too weak to be felt until
they are too strong to be broken.

What a wonderful sight!!!

While checking my usual blogging sites today I came acrossed a photo that warmed the "cockles" of my heart!
I just had to share it with everyone!
(P.S. sorry Hillary from stealing from your site!)

This is a photo of our oldest son Greg (on the left), Our daughter Hillary, and our son-in-law Joshua prior to going to the Draper Temple open house in Draper, Utah.
You 3 are quite a sight! I could look at this photo all day! Greg is sporting the suit we purchased for him while he was visiting over here in England for Christmas!
What a blessing it is as a parent to have such wonderful children going to visit such wonderful places! In this day and age there aren't too many places that you feel the spirit in! The Temple is ALWAYS a place of serinity and peace!
We love you!!! Dad & Mum :0)

The NEW addition to our FaMiLy!!

We have a NEW addition to our FaMiLy and her name is PIXIE !
She is 1/2 Jack Russell and 1/2 long haired Chihuauha.
Jeremey has been bugging us to get a Dalmation, but with the small flats and without a yard it was not in the forseeable future! So when we came upon this little gem - she was as close as he was going to get! She is white with black rings around her eyes, a black spot by her nose and dainty little black spots on her ears! She is a bit bigger than a soup can and is light as a feather.

Ed keeps hoping she will get a bit bigger - but the folks we bought her from said she won't get much bigger than she is! At least she will fit under the seat of an airplane so hopefully she won't have to fly as baggage whenever we bring her home!

I have a reason to get walking now!!! She will definatley be good company for me!!

Where there is faith there is HOPE!!

I have been struggeling a bit lately with quite a few things -
It has started to affect my emotional stability and consume my spirit at times....
Just when you think you have hit a road block - the Lord gives you an ALTERNATE ROUTE to take!
He gave me mine today! Our sacrament meeting theme was on "HOPE" today. We had 3 wonderful speakers that touched on the importance of hope in our lives. I was also reminded that Hope has 2 other friends; Faith and Charity! With these 3 we can get through our dark times and begin to see the "glimmer" of HOPE radiate through our trials.
In 2 Nephi 38:20 the Lord tells us:
Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.
So this week I am going to focus on these 3 inspirational gifts - Faith, HOPE, and Charity! My parents would always say during stressful times: "This too shall pass" and I know that the Lord doesn't give us more than we can bear. So with a steadfastness in Christ I will press forward feasting on his word!
Thank you to those that spoke today and to the teachers in Gospel Doctrine and Relief Society! The lesson ALL blended wonderfully together and really touched my spirit!
The Lord has a way of getting your attention at the right time - when we are in the right place - listening to the spirit!

Pot of GOLD!!!

This morning as I was getting ready for the day - I opened the curtains in our bedroom and to my surprise saw this beautiful sight!

Now I just WISH the Pot of GOLD was at the end of this rainbow! No such luck this time....
Hope your day is a bit LUCKIER!!!

Fish Foot Feeascoe!!!

Here is an update on the sprained ankle, torn ligament Fish Foot! As you can see he has quite the nice purple-ish, blue-ish stripe as well as a nice "chubby" swollen foot. Thise was taken a few days ago - and I am happy to report that it is looking much better and the swelling has gone down as well.

Due to the injury Jeremey was unable to play in their HOME game last night and this morning.
Here he is "sporting" his lovely Lime Green Leisure Suit! The team always dresses up for their home games in "unusual" get ups!! I told him he looked like Anchorman!!

It is a CHALLENGE as a mother to sit and watch him NOT play! I think it is just our instinct to want to make it ALL BETTER as quickly as possible and there are just somethings that WE can't! Sometimes I wish we were back to the days where a little "kiss" on their Boo-boos was enough! These days I'm sure he doesn't want me to Kiss it and make it better!

I know he wished he was out on the court these last 2 games - but hopefully he will be by championships the end of February! He is trying to walk without the crutches and is doing quite well...... Stay tuned for the rest of the story!

News From The "Fish" bowl!

Mustangs vs. AFNORTH
The Menwith Hill Mustangs play against AFNORTH tonight at 5:15 and again tomorrow morning at 11:15. However, due to last weeks injury "FISH" won't be playing for a bit. On the upside the team will have it VERY OWN cheering squad from the bench! Jeremey has been attending practices and plans to attend the remaining games - after all he is still part of the TEAM!!! His heart is there but his ankle says NO, no, no!!!

GO MUSTANGS!!!!
Next week we are away at ALCONBURY!!!
Hopefully Jeremey will be able to handle some strengthening exercises during the week as well!
Slow and steady gets you back in the game bro! Boy, am I thankful for 2 daughters who were trainers for the high school teams!! I have been relying on there experiences a lot - mixed with quite a few Mommy-isms!!! After all, Mom's do KNOW BEST!!!

Angel's from heaven!

Last May I had the wonderful opportunity to assist my brother and sister-in-law for a few weeks after the birth of their twin girls... This is the SECOND set of twin daughters for them!
They were born without any complications and near FULL TERM!!!
What a joy it was to be able to attend to the needs of these precious little ones. I feel for my brother and sister-in-law as their family consists of ALL girls!!! Little girls are "sweet" like sugar when they WANT something & "spicy" like the dickens when they are crabby, that is our nature.

I love this photo of Baby Brooke giving her sister Sara a little kiss!! Now that I am back in England our son Greg has been staying with them and helping with the babies as much as he can! He makes formula, changes dirty and wet diapers, puts them to sleep, and teaches them to "growl!" He absolutely adores these little girls! I think they are kind of partial to him as well!
Don't you want to just squeeze those little cheeks and give them a big ol' SMOOCH!!!

At this age they love playing together - however, give them a few years and things will most likely go awry at times!!!
These photos make me miss these itty-bitty's soooo much. I would love nothing more then to be there to sit on the floor and spend all day playing with them!
I know that my "grandma" days are NOT to far off in the future, but, for now I have my two little nieces to watch grow and develop!

You gotta LOVE that smile!!! That smile could make any bad day a GREAT one!!!
This is one of the first family photos they had taken! They are absolutely fabulous!!! What a wonderful addition to our family!
Hang in there Mike & Brenda! (and Greg) It is a wonderful life even though at times you want to pull your hair out and just take a long winters nap!!! You are sooo blessed and THANK YOU for allowing me the pleasure of being a part of your world for a bit!

Basketball and MUCH more!!!

We are now into Basketball season and the Menwith Hill Mustangs are starting out the season with a BANG or should I say a "POP" or "SEVERAL POPS!" Let me explain.....

We played ACS down in London, 2 games on Friday afternoon and 2 on Saturday.

All was going well, "FISH" #34 was playing well.

Supporting the team when needed whether from the bench or on the court!

Here is #34 "FISH" waiting for "sub rotation" to get in there to do some business!!! He is quick and light on his feet....

A real team player!

Here he is guarding his "man" during the 3 quarter of the 3rd game...

Then all of the sudden as he comes down from stealing a ball he lands wrong on his left ankle and POP - POP - POP!!!!

The next thing we were doing was "icing" - "wrapping" and treating the PAIN until the paramedics arrived .
Jeremey and I rode via ambulance while Ed followed in the car to the nearest hospital in Hillingdon, England....

We arrived at the ER which they call A&E over here.....

Here Jeremey is waiting patiently for the doctor to come and assess him - he was sent down for xrays and asked if he needed anything more for PAIN!!!

The paramedics placed a lovely orange "AIR CAST" on him that also was cold to assist with the swelling... It provided him some comfort and support for the time being...

The xrays came back showing that he had NOT fractured anything - however, it was a bad sprain and he had pulled several ligaments, hence the POPPING noise!

We were sent home with "walking sticks" (their form of crutches) and were told to just elevate it and give him motrin for the swelling and pain..
Oh, and a lovely advice sheet on how to survive a ankle injury!!!
The good news is that it could have been worse - the BAD NEWS is that Jeremey will NOT be able to play basketball for the next 4-6 weeks! Which is basically the remainder of the season!
However, he is still a part of the team and is planning on attending all the practices and games to support the guys!!! With a bit of patience and some MOMMY physio he should be back to playing soon!
We are so proud of you Jeremey! You played a couple of great games!!!!

Sightseeing in FROZEN England!

After a week in Tenerife - we returned to a FREEZING - UK!!! The days in the warmth and sunshine were now only in our memories!!!
We were lucky enough to have Greg's girlfriend Sara come and join us for a week. I was greatful since I was the only FEMALE in the house for over a week and I needed to have some more ESTROGEN in the house to counter act all the TESTOSTERONE circling about!!

One of the places Greg & Sara (and their driver Ed) visited was Brimham Rocks. Brimham Rocks is a unique collection of eroded rock covering an area of about 50 acres, in the care of the National Trust. We are lucky enough to have this located just up the hill from our village of Summerbridge.

Greg & Sara

If you look closely you can see the drizzle FROZEN to the tree!

We thoroughly enjoyed having you here with us! Our adventures to London, riding the train to "King's Cross" and the underground, seeing Spam-a-lot on the West End, walking through the walled city of York and going to the street market in Skipton! Not to mention our nights playing "Rock Band" and "Sing Star"!!!
Thank you for coming and sharing your adventures with us!!! We miss you!
