A Glimpse of what's ahead!!!!

I have't been very "blog"attentive lately. I thought it was about time to add some new photos of what lies ahead next for the Smith Family......
Here is a photo of "da boys" at the Senior breakfast 2 weeks ago... They all tried on their cap and gowns!!! (Jeremey is 3rd from the left if you didn't recognize him.. LOL)
This is a picture of "Fountains Abbey". This is where the calss of 2010 will be graduating. It is a historical park here in North Yorkshire.
This is the area that will be set up for graduation. It is just as beautiful in person! Yes, graduation will take place outdoors.... We are praying that it doesn't rain....
But if it does - graduation will take place under cover, here. Fountains Abbey is a beautiful location. This is something Jeremey will be able to share with his posterity someday.... How many people say they graduated in England in an Abbey! What an awesome day this will be!
The Senior class took a trip out to Fountains Abbey to check things out... Then they were given some time to walk around... That means TROUBLE!!! Here is Jeremey having a bit too much fun! Not sure what he was up to - but what ever it was he ended up on the ground!
The next few months are going to continue to be filled with "LASTS". Jeremey is our LAST one to be going through all of the fun Senior things... Next is Prom and then graduation! Boy how time flies!!!!

Fish is FINISHED!!

Well - the track season for the FISH is over.... The last track meet was held in Leeds and guess what?!!!! Yep - the Fish got hurt again!!!! This time it was the night before at the school carnival! He thought that after he had iced and heated his calf it would feel good enought to run the next morning.... He left for the meet hobbling and moaning of the discomfort he was in.....

Upon our arrival I tried to assist Jeremey by rubbing some "icy hot" on it... He was not liking that one bit! Below he is taking over himself as the discomfort was too much when I was rubbing!

Needless to say - it was WAY too painful to run so he did not qualify for europeans in Germany. He is recovering fine and will be beefing up on the milk and steaks during the summer so we don't have as many injuries during football season in August!
Jeremey can "run like the wind"... he ran a good race and we are so proud of him!

Basketball and MUCH more!!!

We are now into Basketball season and the Menwith Hill Mustangs are starting out the season with a BANG or should I say a "POP" or "SEVERAL POPS!" Let me explain.....

We played ACS down in London, 2 games on Friday afternoon and 2 on Saturday.

All was going well, "FISH" #34 was playing well.

Supporting the team when needed whether from the bench or on the court!

Here is #34 "FISH" waiting for "sub rotation" to get in there to do some business!!! He is quick and light on his feet....

A real team player!

Here he is guarding his "man" during the 3 quarter of the 3rd game...

Then all of the sudden as he comes down from stealing a ball he lands wrong on his left ankle and POP - POP - POP!!!!

The next thing we were doing was "icing" - "wrapping" and treating the PAIN until the paramedics arrived .
Jeremey and I rode via ambulance while Ed followed in the car to the nearest hospital in Hillingdon, England....

We arrived at the ER which they call A&E over here.....

Here Jeremey is waiting patiently for the doctor to come and assess him - he was sent down for xrays and asked if he needed anything more for PAIN!!!

The paramedics placed a lovely orange "AIR CAST" on him that also was cold to assist with the swelling... It provided him some comfort and support for the time being...

The xrays came back showing that he had NOT fractured anything - however, it was a bad sprain and he had pulled several ligaments, hence the POPPING noise!

We were sent home with "walking sticks" (their form of crutches) and were told to just elevate it and give him motrin for the swelling and pain..
Oh, and a lovely advice sheet on how to survive a ankle injury!!!
The good news is that it could have been worse - the BAD NEWS is that Jeremey will NOT be able to play basketball for the next 4-6 weeks! Which is basically the remainder of the season!
However, he is still a part of the team and is planning on attending all the practices and games to support the guys!!! With a bit of patience and some MOMMY physio he should be back to playing soon!
We are so proud of you Jeremey! You played a couple of great games!!!!
